Family Strong is on a mission to raise up strong, confident youth by combining grit-building physical challenges with simple biblical truth by shaping minds, bodies, and character one family, one event, one community at a time.

The Heart of Family Strong

Founded in 2024 by Mackie Brock, Family Strong was born from his belief that strength training could shape more than the body, it could also build faith, discipline, and resilience. What began as a way to guide his own children quickly grew into a mission to instill those same values in the next generation.

Drawing from his background in powerlifting and strongman competitions, Mackie created a series of challenges for his kids...what started as a backyard event quickly became a yearly tradition.

Originally called “The Brock Strongman,” the name soon shifted as he recognized the heart behind it was bigger than one name. Family Strong was born-representing not just physical strength, but unity, inclusion, and the power of family.

As the event expanded within their extended family, Mackie noticed something important: not every child connected through physical strength alone. To level the field and deepen the impact, he introduced biblical trivia into the challenges: pairing physical effort with spiritual growth.

The result was immediate and undeniable.

Kids began discovering strength they didn’t know they had both physically and spiritually. Some realized they were capable of more than they believed, while others encountered truths about God they had never heard before. What started as a simple addition sparked curiosity, confidence, and a genuine hunger to grow...not just in ability, but in character.

As more neighborhood kids joined year after year, the impact only grew. And in Mackie’s heart, it became clear: this was never meant to stay in the backyard.

It was meant for the community.
